“I use dance to tell a story, to heighten drama and create an emotional connection with the audience”.

Paul Kitson was the first British actor/dancer to play “Johnny Castle” in the multi-award winning West-End musical Dirty Dancing. He was personally selected to play the role by the creator and screen-writer of the smash-hit movie, Eleanor Bergstein. The show broke world records in 2006, selling £15 million advance of tickets before opening night.

Paul’s classes and immersive events offer dancers the chance to learn, live and breathe original repertoire and choreography from Dirty Dancing as well as other iconic dance movies. Paul teaches both solo choreography (Finale: Time Of My Life Dirty Dancing – Latin & Ballroom choreography) and partner-work routines (Do You Love Me / Time of My Life / Johnny & Penny’s Mambo) from the show / movie.

In his professional career, Paul has also performed as principal dancer at the ‘Royal Albert Hall’ for the production of ‘La Boheme’, company dancer for the ‘Martha Graham’ Dance Company New York and was selected to play Fred Casely in the musical Chicago. Paul’s commercial dance credits include Kylie Minogue, Girls Aloud and UK boy band Blue, as well as choreographing routines for contestants of X-Factor/Simon Cowell and the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.
